Orreco, a global leader in bio-analytics and performance for elite athletes, is proud to announce the continuation of its relationship with The FA.
Orreco’s Female Athlete team will continue to work with the England senior women’s squad, as they bid to retain the UEFA Women’s EURO trophy this summer.
The relationship sees Orreco continuing to provide England’s senior team with its FitrWoman app and FitrCoach platform. This is designed to help the players and performance staff of The FA monitor and better understand players’ menstrual cycles and the potential effects on performance.
Orreco will also work closely with England players, coaches and performance staff providing individualised player reports, action plans and strategies to help manage and optimise symptoms and performance related to the menstrual cycle. The FA have also extended their education and resources to support the England women’s development teams, increasing their understanding and promoting positive female athlete heath.
Dr Ritan Mehta, The FA’s Head of Women’s Medical, said: “This is a key strategic priority area for The FA and we are pleased to be continuing to work with Orreco on monitoring our players’ menstrual cycle health through the FitrWoman app and FitrCoach platform. This helps us to identify any potential areas of concern early but also to individualise the support we provide, alongside the guidance offered by clubs. We also continue to place an emphasis on increasing our pathway players’ knowledge on female athlete health. It’s great to have Orreco’s experience in this area to inspire and empower our players to learn about their bodies as they strive to become future Lionesses.”
Orreco Female Athlete Team Lead, Prof Kerry McGawley said: “We are delighted to continue our work with The FA and England senior women. It is a privilege to collaborate together to advance the science of elite performance for women in sport.
“Our FitrWoman and FitrCoach platforms are being deployed to help harness the power of female physiology, so the phenomenal Lionesses players can perform their best on any given day of their cycle.”
