Orreco are delighted to announce that CEO Dr Brian Moore and Global Director of Sport Science and Female Athlete Lead Dr Georgie Bruinvels will be speaking at the world-renowned Web Summit Conference on Wednesday 3rd November in Lisbon, Portugal.
They will also be joined on stage by ten-time Olympic medallist and Team USA swimmer (also Orreco Female Athlete Consultancy client) Allison Schmitt to speak on the topic of whether health research has failed women.
We are excited to engage in discussions on stage and explain how Orreco is leading the way in products and education around female physiology and applying a female lens to sport science and performance, whilst funding health research along the way to help further the understanding of this area.
At present Orreco has three PhD students being part-funded by the company including:
‘Cognition, sleep and the menstrual cycle’ - Orreco and Letterkenny Institute
‘Cultural considerations and effects of the menstrual cycle in Oceania’ - Orreco, University of Waikato and High Performance Sport New Zealand
‘Menstrual cycle in female football – soccer performance and female health’ - Orreco, FIFA and University of Western Sydney
Over the past three years Orreco has invested a seven-figure sum into female athlete research and developed the FitrWoman App back in 2017, designed to help women train and exercise to their full potential during their menstrual cycle with nutritional and training insights tailored to each phase.
The company is passionate about spreading educational content to empower women to make their own choices around their bodies, nutrition and training.
Orreco also continues to build its client base for its Female Athlete Programme, where we have been working with elite female athletes for over 20 years, including multiple Olympic medallists and World champions.
Our client list currently includes USA Swimming, the England Lionesses, Chelsea Women’s FC, USA Volleyball athletes Alix Klineman and April Ross, Olympic cyclist Haley Batten, Harlequins Women’s Rugby Club, Drops Le Col cycling team and Oregon Track Club.
