In this inaugural episode of Orreco’s ‘Optimized’ podcast called ‘We’re Growing!”, host Marc Cleary, one of our Sports Scientists, is joined by our founder and CEO Dr Brian Moore.
Marc and Brian focus on the announcement of our $3.6m investment round and the effect this milestone event will have on the companies’ development.
They speak about True Ventures and other prominent investors taking part in this fundraise and how their backing and expertise is helping Orreco add experienced Executives to the team, along with 30 new positions to be added across the disciplines of Data Science, Product, Software Development and SportsScience.
Talk also turns to Orreco’s hands on experience with our network of global clients like the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, Newcastle United FC, NBA All Star Pascal Siakam and Chelsea FC Women’s team, amongst others.
This podcast episode also focuses on our @thlete and te@m platform’s, which use machine learning to aggregate multiple cutting edge data sources and offers elite athletes and their support team real-time, actionable insights based off their biomarker results.
Brian reflects on the origins of Orreco’s Female Athlete Consultancy program and Dr Georgie Bruinvels role within it, our FitrWoman app and the impact made with clients like the USWNT, English FA, USASwimming and Red Bull High Performance. The program is now being positioned into the @thlete app, to be rolled out further to athletes across the WNBA,NWSL, WSL and elsewhere.
Finally, Brian outlines to Marc how this investment will help accelerate Orreco’s growth and further develop our position in the EPL and NBA. Brian says: “We have ambitious growth and recruitment plans for talented teammates to join us. Our strategic investments over the past 10 years in applied data science and machine learning and our dedicated focus on women’s sport in particular, is now compounding in value.”
